9:00am: while the mahmoods are exploring gaborone, the capital of botswana, the johnstones have crossed the border and are heading to east london to meet fatima's sister. the johnstones tried to cross the border last night but the border closes at 8:00pm and they had to wait till this morning to enter south africa. they are currently on route to east london and will be meeting up again with the mahmoods on saturday in cape town to end their journey together.
gaborone is the modern, fast-growing capital of botswana. nearby, one can see ancient animal tracks and human footprints made in the rock bed of an ancient river.
