details

today the group is heading to francistown, one of the oldest towns in botswana. it was the site of southern africa's first gold rush and is surrounded by the remnants of abandoned mines.

9:00pm: the group decided to bypass francistown and headed directly to gaborone. they thoroughly enjoyed their stay in maun, enjoying the peaceful mokoro safari. they had stayed at the sedia riverside camp and also went on a hiking safari, spotting elephants, warthogs and they came across a dead giraffe. they are also nursing minor wounds from the white water rafting in livingstone from a few days earlier. they are "full of plasters" and romana injured her knee, describing it as "looks gooey". last night, they celebrated abdullah's birthday with a bbq. they were able to find halaal meat from musa's butchery.

today, the mahmoods bypassed francistown and went to gaborone where they will stay for two nights.  the johnstones carried onward to east london in south africa to meet fatima's sister. their journey is coming quickly to an end and they will have many more stories to share with everyone.
