7:00pm: after travelling almost 600km from the capital lusaka yesterday, the group arrived in livingstone. today, the the group went to see the majestic victoria falls. known locally as "mosi-oa-tunya" - the smoke that thunders, the falls are a spectacular natural wonder. they are 1708 meters wide and drops between 90-107 meters into the zambezi gorge. the first european to see the falls was david livingstone in 1855 but the local tribes had known the falls since antiquity.
later, some members tried river boarding on the zambezi river. this is similar to surfing but on your body. an exciting adventure to prepare them for the ultimate adventure tomorrow of white water rafting!
