3:00pm: the johnstone family was resting in dar es salaam at the harbour view hotel. the johnstone girls are much better and their diarrhea, caused by some disagreeing food, has settled down. they were glad to stay in bed and get some rest.
the mahmood family continued down the tanzanian coast to kilwa, a drive of five hours. they are staying at the kilwa seaview resort right on the beach and they have a private little bay to enjoy. accommodation is in african style bandas with view of the ocean. the family enjoyed the peaceful beach and swimming in perfect weather. they also saw a huge jellyfish in the clear waters. later, they will be going to old kilwa and are planning a bbq dinner. tomorrow they will be going to kilwa kisiwani, located on an island, to see the ruins of a famous old trading post which was a stop along the travels of ibn babuta.
