home base: after a well needed rest, the team left samarmaz hotel in port sudan at 9:00am. the vehicles were fueled and water supplies were replenished before heading out to atbara via al hayya. all are in good spirits and looking forward to today. the weather is also good at 34 degrees.
home base 11:00pm: the trekkers had a strenuous 12 hour drive from port sudan to atbara via al-hayya, covering 425 km. stopping to refuel midway, it was a long, hot journey on a dirt track. |
